Do you ever feel like a plastic bag?

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag?

I mean, have you? I can safely tell you all now that no, I have never felt like a plastic bag. I've felt like a whale, like a fish, even like a monkey, but I have never felt like I should have been born a Morrisons carrier bag. Would I want to be a Morrisons carrier bag anyway? Topshop's bags are much nicer at the moment, and so are the Urban Outfitters ones. But they're not plastic *sobs* so this conversation is irrelevant.

Is it just me who thinks that some of the song lyrics at the moment are just, well stupid? If you can find any other meaning to 'feeling like a plastic bag,' I would like to meet you and would be very happy to hear your story. (I sound like those real life magazines now!)

So basically, all I'm trying to say is that I want to hear songs that actually mean something. I love Marina and the Diamonds for that specific reason. Every song that I've ever heard of hers tells a story, lets me into her brain for those three minutes and that's why I think there's something really special about her. Even songs, such as her latest single How To Be A Heartbreaker (which flopped, but oh well) that are upbeat and catchy have a more sinister underlying message - this one basically says that girls are too afraid to have their hearts broken so they act all fake and be heartbreakers, they don't want to get too close to anybody, not let anybody in.

And the awards for the most stupidest song lyrics goes to...

One Direction - Little Things:

'I know you've never loved
The crinkles by your eyes
When you smile.
You've never loved
Your stomach or your thighs,
The dimples in your back at the bottom of your spine
But I'll love them endlessly.'

The Saturdays - Karma:

'I saw you yesterday, you were walking with her holding hands,
Man I hope you choke on some really hot coffee.'

Rebecca Black - Friday (this one's pretty obvious though, and sadly I can't include every single lyric, so here are some of my favourites:)

'Kicking in the front seat,
Sitting in the back seat,
Gotta make my mind up,
Which seat can I take?'

'Yesterday was Thursday, Thursday,
Today is Friday, Friday (Partying!)'

Tommorow is Saturday,
And Sunday comes afterwards...'

'Gotta have my bowl,
Gotta have cereal.'

Ke$ha - Blah Blah Blah

'So cut to the chase kid -
Cause I know you don't care what my middle name is.'

'I want to be naked and guess what,
You're wasted.'

Another entry for Ke$ha, this time with 'Part at a rich dude's house.'

'Woah oh oh oh,
There's a party at a rich dude's house
So if you wanna go,
Then you know oh oh,
We gotta fight till we do it right,
Lets oh oh oh oh oh,

Justin Bieber - Baby

'I'm in pieces, baby fix me.
And just shake me till you wake me from this bad dream.
I'm going down, down, down, down,
And I just can't believe my first love won't be around.'

Cheryl Cole - Sexy Den A Mutha

Don’t lose the key to my heart boy your love’s
Like the double trouble drum
that I bang bang bang
Don’t let go of me,
hold me till I’ve had enough
Watch my body rum-pa-pum
b-b-bang bang

Sorry, but these are all stupid lyrics that mean absolutely nothing to me. You probably won't agree with me, but if you do, please tell me by leaving a comment in the comments box below. Is there any more songs you can think of that include lyrics worse than these? I'd love to hear about them!

Pictures tell a thousand words..

OH. MY. GOD it's 2013. What's happening? It seems like only yesterday that everybody was celebrating the new millennium  when Robbie Williams had a great solo career (I'm singing Millennium in my head right now)  - and *shock horror* - reality TV shows didn't really exist, there was no Mr 'I'm so cool and I love high waisted trousers more than I love Danni Minouge' Cowell - not even Girls Aloud existed. That's so weird. :O

Anyway.. this is a post off my new blog 'loving the limelight,' which you can check out here, it's going to be filled with fashion-y things, music - long live pop and Xenomania because they are amazing - and my little ramblings, me being myself and just, well just being generally irritating and writing about myself. Ha!

Here's a little taster, one about my obsession with Polyvore - if you haven't checked it out before you really need to - I love it.

pixie lott; live the life you've imagined

{pixie lott; live the life you've imagined}
{Pixie Lott is one of my style icons, and if I had her voice I wouldn't stop singing - she's flawless.}
{not to the newspapers though - remember that day when she forgot to shave!} :o

oh my pixie lott 'carla' necklace
{oh my pixie lott 'carla' necklace}
{another Pixie Lott collage, this time promoting her range with 'Rock and Rose,' not that I own any of it - have you seen the prices? Maybe when they're reduced I'll buy some - there's plenty of cheaper alternatives on the high street which I've treated myself too!}

when life gets tough put on your boxing gloves
{when life gets tough put on your boxing gloves}
{it was meant to be my interpretation of Cheryl Cole's book; 'My Story' although looking back on it, (I did this one a few months ago) I didn't include loads of things I could have done so I think I might do another one, just to do the book justice.}
nimble kimble to win 'strictly' 2012!

{nimble kimble to win 'strictly' 2012!}
{as the name suggests, this one was for Kimberley Walsh and Pasha Kovalev - #teampasherley all the way - because I wanted them to win Strictly 2012 - they didn't but I didn't really care when it came to it because Louis Smith is amazing and if you don't love Louis Smith, well you won't be on my Christmas card list next year because you should do. This collage was made before I knew how to import my own images into Polyvore, so I just had to use to ones other people had imported - hence lack of different images from different events, most of them are from when the Girls Aloud ladies, minus Nadine went to see Kimba perform in Shrek the Musical.}

men in white coats

{men in white coats}
{this is the one I'm most proud of. It was the first one I did where I actually took it seriously, this whole 'collage-y' thing I mean - and I was so proud of it - I still am - and Madhouse is such as great song, if you haven't listened to it yet, it's on Little Mix's debut album and if I dare say it's my favourite song on the whole album.}

I love Polyvore - it's a site I love to go on when I've got nothing else to do or - well you know when you've got so much going on that you just need to do something to take your mind off it all? Well that's what Polyvore is to me, I love going onto it and seeing everybody's different collages and what items they styled with others, but it also brings out the artistic side in me, which is good when you can't even draw a stick man properly! *shakes head*

Have any of you ever used Polyvore and what do you think of it?

have a a-maze-ing christmas!

this is my last post of 2012, and while listening (and loving) the new little mix album, i would just like to thank you all for reading this, for sticking with it even though some of it has been pretty sh*t (first and last swear word i've ever posted on here) and i haven't given it the dedication i should have done... but hey ho, i've reached christmas with it and i hope next year brings more posts that i can be proud of and more readers.

i'm even thinking of starting a new blog, starting afresh but i aren't 100% sure on that; when you type 'popmaze' into google this blog doesn't even come up because there are thousands of games called popmaze which rank higher, this kinda worries me but hopefully it'll be alright, if not i'm looking for either a new blog, new nice theme or a new name. suggestions on a postcard please.

there's me rant for you all and see you in 2013 where hopefully little mix will take over the world and girls aloud will put on the massive show they've been promising us.

christmas songs excite me

Now I know that some of you just love to listen to all of the 'classic' christmas songs; but sometimes they just get on my nerves. If you have Sky TV, you'll know that the music channel Magic start playing christmas songs in November, the same playlist over and over and over again and to be quite frank, it REALLY annoys me. Do I really want to hear 'Do they know it's christmas time at allllllll?' every day for the next 60 days? Hell no. The amount of times songs like this are played, everybody WILL know when christmas is by now. I'm suprised somebody like Peter Kay hasn't brought out a single that goes 'Yes... we know it's christmas time by now!' because that would be amazing.
So here's some alternative christmas songs that I love; some of them are covers but covers are the best when it comes to christmas songs; especially when they sound totally different to the original!
Not Tonight Santa - Girls Aloud
Christmas Wrapping - Oh My!
Catching Snowflakes - Pixie Lott
Winter Wonderland - The Saturdays
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - Parade

My favourite is the Pixie Lott one; Catching Snowflakes was on the end of the Turn It Up Louder album and it always made me think of Christmas every time I heard it, even though the last time I actually listened to it properley was probably in July or something when it was meant to be warm but kinda wasn't.

(that's if I don't get a post up because I'm a lazy sod who loves to eat chocolate and watch Top of the Pops reruns.)
